ive been running my site studentstyle (points to sig link) for only 2 months but ive been updating ti with new content, reforming the link to make it easyer to navigate based on what people have said when reviewing my site. I now have 214 pages. 74 are recipes so....150 are actual articles and at least 130 are original and wrote by me from 400 words to over 1000. >.> How much contents king? just as much as u can get? and how is it king? becuase im not seeing a mountain of 'natural' backlinks comming, infact non, i have over 1250 recorded by google back links in a few pr 8,7,6 a good few 5 4 3 and loads of 2 1 0 directories as well as alot from this forum (still waiting for google to map me on most of them) Basicly how is content king in googles eyes?
Unique, original content is king to Google by way of getting return readers to your site. Are you promoting your site? Submitting articles? Posting on blogs? Active in the social networks? Stumbling anyone? Sending any Tweets? While content is the lemonade stand, if you don't let people know about your site (i.e. links on other sites) they'll never find you.
my sites stumbled, digged and delicioused on my main sections but not on articles. . .. should i add a digg stumble and all them kind of buttons to my articles(ive seen them on other sites a little social book mark icon)? where do i get them? Have posted on blogs tho ive found student blogs hard to find i found a decent 6 im active in when i give valuable posts (im not a spammer) How does submitting articles help? to where? wont it just dilute googles crawler when it sees one article on my site 100 times around other places and lastly what is a press release (feel free to point me to a press release template site lol) and where do you send it to (god im clueless when it comes to anything but writting content) my sites based on students going to university ever articles relates, my site does get some 30 odd visitors a day for "articles on student budgeting" for example http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=articles+on+student+budgeting&meta= 6th http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=articles+on+student+budgeting&meta= 1st and second, tho i think this is due to the fact im new so i get a boost. Not saying 214 pages is alot when ive only been working on thsi site for 2 months but once i reach about 1000 my sites going to be very saturated in terms of information on univerisity lol theres only so much before articles start to blend what other articles say.
Your site probably needs more links- You can never have too much links and too much content- the problem is simply that you think 214 pages of content is alot- it is not.. you have places with 100k indexed pages and then the content is king phrase comes in - also are all 214 pages indexed? Next question is did you do research before you put up 214 pages- because you can write an article about the cons of beanie babies and not get traffic because noone is searching for your content- google doesn't just send you visitors because you meet a quota of content.. Is your content interesting? Why would I link to it... now if you answer these question you find the problem.. content is king when you write about things people want to read and talk about or when you have alot of it- places like engaget had 20k posts in 2 yrs, ezinearticles probably has an astonishing amount so when you think in terms of sites like this you realize that 200 pages on a site may not do the job unless it's some really great stuff.. My advice- submit your unique content articles to ezinearticles- after you make minor changes and get some backlinks and traffic that way.
You should create links by submitting in directories n write articles containing relative n relevant content to your site, this would be better.
YES Content is the King..........you can creat link by directory submission, article submission, forum submission and blog submission but keep in mind that content should be unique original and relevent to your site
Quality content will surely bring traffic to your site. That is why make sure to check your content's grammar, spelling, and make it interesting and captivating.
Content is king, but getting users to find it is also king. The best content in the world is useless unless someone knows about it. Sometimes all it takes is a few good links to your content and that will create an avalanche of other links and traffic.
