Content helping or hurting

If you go to my home page www.sierra-vista-homes-land.com and scroll down to neer the bottom I have a section (Arizona Real Estate News Articles) of links to internal pages that have news articles that I got from other web sites. Is this content hurting me because it is duplicate on the web? I am wondering if I should delete it or add to it?

My impression would be that duplicate content isn't going to hurt you - it's just not going to help. For relevancy - search engines wouldn't want two copies of the same information appearing in the same search results (as it would degrade the user experience)

In that case - they would determine the most authoritative (which is unlikely to be you) and simply not index the rest.

But then again - I might be wrong :) Any other opinions?

If they are duplicate, remove them right away. Google doesn like duplicate content. And more so, they are linked from the home page. So act fast, and remove them asap.
