I'm just curious how do you guys write so fast? I mean I have content writers that can produce 1000 words in like 20 minutes on an advanced topic. It's unreal becuase I was just setting here trying to write something up about health insurance plans, but it was taking me forever to rewrite something on Major Medical Insurance. Do you get better with it as you practice? Now with a topic I am famaliar with I can rewrite very fast or just create ideas to write about it, but if I'm not famaliar with the given topic it takes me forever... Any tips guys?
Like you, if it is a topic I am not familiar with then you have to account for research time. If it's an easy subject and/or a topic that I know, the words just flow. It helps when you can type almost 100 wpm too. The fastest I have done was a 5000 word eGuide in 3 hours and that was searching all about carpal tunnel. Never again will I try to do it that fast, it wasn't worth the stress I felt
I can't remember what they call that in school. Where you would read something then you had so much time to rewrite it do you know what I'm talking about?
Once I have done the research on the topic, I tend to write several articles at once about it. Research once, write many. This way I can make the most of my time and produce quite a bit.
That make good sense houdini but do you have trouble finding mutliple outlets for the articles? Or have you developed an overlapping network that works to your advantage in that regard?
Yes, it is time consuming to write unique articles however have you considered finding a good existing article and wrangling it with contentboss?
It really depends on the topic at hand. If it's finance or exercise, I can crank it out pretty quickly.
It helps if you are familiar and if you like the topic that you are writing/rewriting about. If, on the other hand, you are writing/rewriting about something that you are not too knowledgeable about, it would be good if you try to understand it first. Read, read again. And, if you can, do a LOT of research. Once you have a good grasp of the topic at hand, the words would definitely start flowing, if not that fast, at least a lot faster than when you started writing about it. That's what I do.
It takes me an hour to write the first draft, half an hour to edit it and another half an hour to re-edit it. Sometimes it takes me longer to write, especially if the article needs an intensive amount of research. But to write a 500-word article in 20 minutes? That's a bull. I can do that if it's just a blog entry.
There are some people who have the gift of writing. Everyone else just pays them. If it takes you longer than an hour to create a 400+ word article, including research, it wouldn't be wise to do it yourself. Even if you know your subject inside and out, it would still probably be easier(cheaper) to higher someone than to write it yourself. Those people tend to have a better vocabulary, and might not have to proof read their work as much as "us". Think about how many times you've written something, only to reread/rewrite it 20 times and still think it isn't right. That's time(money) being wasted.
Hi, I'm concerned about the quality of my writing rather than speed. I'm a percolator. I generally like to let ideas bounce in my brain a bit before I sit down to write. One thing I always try to do is look for a unique angle to take on a topic. That's creative work that takes time and it has really paid off for the weekly column I write for the local daily paper. Fortunately I can do this creative work while accomplishing other tasks because I get most of my good ideas and interesting angles while exercising and taking showers. I guess I need to have either sweat or water dripping off my nose before I can think creatively. :0
Hi everybody, I have just started out and over the last 1 month of rewriting, I have been taking about 45 minutes. I do not spin and try to present the article adding a lot of my vocabulary. Wonder if this is the right speed?
Last time I sat here and timed it, I was writing 4 450 word articles an hour. This was for a company, and they liked them, so I'm assuming that the articles were quality articles. This did not include research time, however, as I already knew about the subject.
This is me!! I can take hours to think and then write it up in like 20 minutes. The hydrophilic creative spurts are also inherent. I always thought I was unique till I read this! What else do you do ? stare at the wall to get rid of the writer's block ?
You just have to sit down and write the articles. I see a lot of people buying articles or getting ghost writers but at some pout you will have to write your won otherwise it will sound bland and when video comes along you will actually have to speak from your heart.
