Buying Content creation for a Tech Blog

Discussion in 'Content Creation' started by asiogroup, Sep 11, 2015.

I am looking for writers to help me with some content creation for a tech blog. (tech guides and how to stuff)
The opportunity is a long term so the applicants should have good knowledge about tech.
I am willing to work with a bunch of freelancers at first and then hire the suitable ones for a long term with better payment structure.
    The Requirements
The writer should be able to write quality article free of any grammatical and spelling errors.
Please message me with at lease one live article on a blog. (The quality and presentation of the article Matters).
    If you get qualified -
I'll ask you to write a couple of articles which you will have to complete in a given timeframe,
and send the articles to me. This will decide whether we would work again or not.
    The Payout
The payout is going to be between $5 to $8 Depending the quality of article and importance of topic and not word count.
Payment will be made on per article basis for freelancers via PayPal

Why not focus on hiring the 'suitable' ones first with the 'better payment structure' instead of hiring 'a bunch' at paltry rates?

How much are you paying for these pieces?

But I'll bet you have a minimum word count in mind, right? And that you're going to pay the same rate for a 300 word piece as you would a 1,300 word piece.

Do you also compensate applicants in writing a couple of articles even if you decide not to let them continue?

    Sorry for some confusion.

I have been hiring freelancers that way only from last year years. I do not leave feedback neither do I ask for it.

As far as the Trust factor is concerned, I talk to the writers on PM and mutually decide the payouts untill they are regular (in that case they are sent a payment on biweekly or monthly basis)

Yes, I am paying for every article written for me that will be posted on the blog. Just the difference is that I will offer few of them a long term position as a writer on the blog.

This is actually what I am doing, but little differently.
To hire only suitable ones, I'll have to ask every applicant to submit their articles, then talk to them and finally select a few, only to find that they are good writers but don't complete a task at time, or just stop responding, or do not start working at all. I have done that and there is a lot of waste of time and energy.

So, it's better to work with few people initially, the way they are already working ( that is, on a per-article basis), then shortlist the ones I think are well suited. It's as simple as that.

Tech guides can range from 300- 800 words, but tech guides are usually lengthy. While I don't like (and don't want also) to pay on the basis of word count. We can agree on payment terms, this figure I gave it just to give an idea about what kind of payment one can expect. If the guides a really longer ones, like 1000+ the writer will be paid accordingly, (which is usually $1/100 word)

What technical guides are only 800 words? I think people on here and myself have different expectations of what a technical guide or manual is. It sounds like you're just looking for website fluff content.
