i was browsing google news and found that the top stories are published on 2500 news sites for example http://news.google.co.in/nwshp?oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wn&ncl=1120298679&topic=h&scoring=d its just news sites , and if you count blogs /websites who rewrite /republish this story will be over 25000 ...so do you think you can get some significant traffic if a single articles is being published thousands of times on internet .???? and remember these duplicate articles are searchable in google and getting almost equal traffic that unique article get (however i dont think there is anything unique on internet ,every articles is rewritten/republished hundreds of times by millions of webmasters)
The highest PR websites rank highest for the duplicate articles so the copycats don't really get any traffic is they just steal and have no PR.
content is king. But you have to market it well. I guess those days are gone , when you just write an article related to your hobby and it will get no. 1 google rank. Those days were good , but now gone. So to make your content work , you should have some marketing knowledge. This knowledge will tell , how much money you 'll make out of ur content
Well I think the "copycats" target their pages for niche search terms related to the article and recieve some traffic from the search engines too. This may result in interesting revenue if you have to offer a product or use the pages for ad publishing.
Is not important whether the contents being republished on the net repeatedly but the most important is the updated informations that are seeking by targeted group of peoples.
I have sites where I've taken articles from article sites with authors signature posted in them in content management system like drupal added adsense and they have been making me steady income for years now. It has beeen slowing down though. Websites are actually organized and look very professional and informative not like some spam sites that I run in to.
Is there a good way to go about generating content? I mean there's a lot of stuff I could write about, but when it all comes down it seems it would be a lot faster to (legally) use someone elses? Are there any good feeds that can be used without fear of copyright infringement?
Live-cms is correct. The original will get higher ranking in the serps provided it is sitting on a good PR, authority site. So there is still a chance for a duplicate to get a higher ranking than the original content site.
are there any legal issues with using Google news, or do you have to pay them for use of their material. Please forgive me. I come from a more sysadmin background and less of a marketing background so I'm a little Naive.
