Contectual Ads vs Non Contextual Ads?

    Adsense only allows non-contextual ads to run on the same page as Adsense ads.

    But what exactly is the difference between contextual and non-contextual ads?

    I am trying to figure out if Commission Junction Image ads are OK to run alongside Adsense ads?????

    Yes CJ ads are ok, as long as they don't mimic the adsense ones.

    the difference is that contextual ads are related to your content, adsense crawls your text to see what your site is about, while non-contextual ads are the ones not related to your site, or from a vertical you chose.

    So therefore, is it ok to have a Commission Junction image ad on the same site with adsense?

    (I have adsense text ads, link units, and referral ads on the blog)

    Yes you can use cj adds with Google adsense adds . I am using them on my tech blogs and promoting banners of software , they give nice returns if you promote niche related .

    Who told you that? You can put adsense ads with other contextual ads on the same page - https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32849 the other ads however should not mimic adsense:)

    Contextual ads targets your website content and displays ads, while non contextual ads don't read your site content!

    Contextual:
    1) adsense
    2) kontera
    3) chitika premium
    4) adbrite inlinks [not 100% sure about this]!

    non-contextual:
    1) adbrite
    2) bidvertiser!!

    yes it's ok, but there are some image guidelines for adsense, if you put those images next to adsense ads then it could create problems. keep enough distance between the cj images and the google adsense ads, and everything will be ok!

    the simple adbrite, text and image ads can be easily used with adsense, they are ok!

    it will be better if you ask adsense support before using the adbrite inlinks and full page ads with adsense on the same page!
