i would just like to share my recent experience trying to contact google. i wrote them an email a month ago enquiring if my wife's blog had been banned by google due to the comment spam that were linking to poker sites.

i did get an automated reply informing me that they have received my email. no news after that. so i wrote to them again today. i got the automated reply again. a few hours later, i got another reply:

Thank you for writing to Google. We'd like to assist you, but we only
respond to messages submitted through our online contact form. Please
visit http://www.google.com/support/ to submit your message, and we'll get
back to you soon. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we look forward
    to hearing from you.

    Regards,

    The Google Team
    Code (markup):
looks like they only respond to enquiries through their online form. a month ago, their contact me page ask the public to send emails to a list of email addresses - i wrote to both and .

I bet they changed it because they would spend more time on sorting out the spam than actually helping people.
If it's going to speed the support time up, I'ld say it's a good move.

I received the same for a domain that had expired and I bought and put back up in its original form, I received the same response and submitted an online enquiry.

After submitting an online enquiry their software scans the text and still sends back a canned repsonse, however I replied to the canned response and explained my situation again. After a few days I received an email from a "human" saying they understood my concerns and had passed my details on to an engineer to look into.

There is a quicker route if you advertise on Google. Just login to your AdWords account, click on the Contact Us link and post your question or comment. I've done that a few times and promptly received a relevant reply from a human being, even when my question was not related to Adwords at all.

I contacted Google many times about several issues and if I ever got a reply it was just an automated response not answering my questions :(

That's the usual way, but sometimes, as someone posted above, you might get lucky and get a personal response.

I had the same experience. I sent them 2 emails - both of the emails were the same - just one of the email the subject was: 2nd REQUEST.
It took about 3 days before I received the "2nd request" email response. Yesterday I finally recieved a response from my "First" email and that is a month later.
So that is kind of whacky :)
ps... both response were different - One of the response was a little better than the other.

But both responses were written by a human?
    That's not too usual...

I have found the response time within 24 hours when using AdSense>contact us. When they respond you can reply back and forth.
