I have some websites where I use Adsense. Obviously the ads which show are those of the advertisers which get picked by the Googles algorythms. I'd like to approach some of them about putting their ads on my websites, but of course it would be in violation of Google's TOS so I want do that. I can see which of the copanies are frequent in the adverts, so I will not approach them. But those are just a bunch - not all of the companies doing internet business in the related field. So, how the heck can I go about this approaching companies thing ? 1 - How in the universe would I know that a certain company is not an Adwords partner ? I might never see them on my website now or ever, but if one day their ad shows on Adsense and Google gives me 'shiat' for breaking their TOS - how could I be responsible for that ? Seems like participating in Adsense means signing completely the advertising right off to Google, right ? 2 - What if a company is advertising with Google but they independently approach me about putting a banner on my website and I do that. Do I get canned ? 3- Can I have Adsense and selling stuff through Amazon.com on the same page ? They are Adsense customers.. These things are so unclear to me, just like few other of their TOS, like what's the big deal with not being able to talk about CTR etc. Of course people can do that, saying 'between this and that' for example. What do you think about this contacting advertisers business ?
I think theirs a difference between specifically targeting and soliciting your adwords advertisers and selling an ad space to someone who happens to have an adsense account.
Yes it is. As when you sign up for adsense you choose to be agree with their T&C. In other words, By signing up to Adsense you grant google all the advert rights, specificaly for contextual ads, on the page you put Google ads. No. you wont. You can not contact Advertizers..but its not other way round, at least in Adsense. not sure about adwords. Yes you can. Just forget it and have a peaceful life.
I have advertisers on my site who also appear as adsense advertisers. I have never broken it down in my head the way you have done. I am offering a very targeted audience and these people want it. I am selling listings and content pages. It has nothing at all to do with adsense. On the other hand, I have never thought of poring over the adsense ads I get to look for potential advertisers. How naive am I, eh? Google has never had a problem with me and my advertisers and I have been with Adsense since 2003. This term contextual advertising is confusing. Of course you are going to offer ads in context, right? For example on my property pages, I sell ads to property agents. My golf pages are sponsored by a golf company. That is contextual in the normal use of the word. But what I have come to understand, is contextual advertiaisng in the sense of Google Adsense TOS, is an ad server that will dish up changing ads based on the content/keywords of your site. In comparison, the ads I sell are static link and content. I hope this helps.
Right You can do that without being banned. Yes you can just like what i am doing. But don't forget to ask Google about your site and your adsense
I think it's allowed to put a page on your site that tells you use ads by google and if people are interested they can join adwords and specificly show ads on your site. A recommendation rather than a violation. This site has done that as well.
