That's a large drop. I hope things improve for you very soon. I guess you are right though. It is in beta so things like this can happen and even if there is nothing wrong with YPN, it could still drop because of advertiser spending habbits.
I have been with YPN since like Nov, they were great compared to AdSense for me, until April 1 or so, every since, I don't know what the heck they did, but I get the same impressions and clicks on average, but my EPC is getting lower and lower every day it seems. If it continues until the end of the month, I am switching to AdSense for all of May to see what there paying these days.
I guess that it happens. I always see my earnings per click drop and rise like a seasaw from month to month.
why do you guys blame YPN for rates? I mean they take a cut yes, but they don't give you money, it's the advertisers. Advertisers have limits as well...and are probably trying to optimize their spendings, keywords, etc...that will have a huge effect on CPC.
yes but when it happens for every advertiser accross the board for multiple targets yeah its ypn cause unless its jan 1 again the holidays didn't just end so there isn't any trend that would explain other then ypn did something. My earnings did drop but not alot until the day after that friday where everyone had the bug where their earnings spiked and reporting updates stopped for like 13 hours. Then every day after that earnings were 50% less then what they were before that friday of the revenue spike.
I wonder where YahooSarah is? Anyhow I just wish we could get some kind of confirmation from Yahoo on this issue if it will be fixed or not.
Ad revenue always drops from time to time. I have recently seen a drop in my adsense revenue and especially my CPM revenue from ValueClickMedia. It drops, but then it recovers again. The price per click all depends on an advertisers spending habbits.
So John your saying it's not Yahoo but more Advertisers not spending as much? I myself am a bit confused as well because a lot of people here and some on my MSN list say they have dropped but others say there normal. I've been asking people who run YPN if they have dropped so maybe then I can see if it's Yahoo or Advertisers.
I don't run Yahoo, so I wouldn't know, but there are always posts and treads about Adsense where people have seen their worst earnings ever and some reply seeing their best, and others reply saying that it is roughly the same. I guess that advertising revenue drops and increases from time to time for most industries. But as I don't run Yahoo ads because I am international then all I know is that it could be them as they are in beta and Adsense are not.
its been low since april started, but the weekends are the worst, my earnings are cut by more then half. Today it seems pretty good, above average day, hopefully it will stay like this.
yeah it does seem like a good day. It's seems to be getting a bit normal for me. Still not great but very good compared to the other past 6 days for me.
It's nice to know that things are starting to improve for you guys. Lets just hope it keeps improving and stays that way.
Mine have been slow today again. Just a bad month for my sites is all. I am sure they will rebound though.
Once April 1 arrived, it has been like someone turned a switch off. My YPN earnings have been averaging 50% lower per day, every since and today looks the same as all month has been. Is the summer slump beginning early this year ? lol I am wondering if YPN has started their own type of 'Smart Pricing' system, like AdSense did ? What is amazing is, on the few sites that I have AdSense, I am earning almost the same per click now as I am with YPN.
if thats the case I might as well switch back to adsense, the only merrit now is direct deposit of the money
Well today and yesterday seemed pretty normal for my traffic levels of around 13,000 uniques yesterday. It's kinda strange I had the same issues with low payouts then starting yesterday I was back to normal and people with different niches seem to have the same problem I did have. Could it really be the advertisers not paying as much?
