Hello, After running Opti for years now, all of a sudden we rebooted and can no longer connect to our database. We click on the "Hosts" button and see our dbase, but its greyed out. Please help ASAP. Thanks

I think we have narrowed this down a bit. We just proved that rebuilding the indexes corrupts the dbase. Now what?

Rebuilding indexes does not corrupt the database. Rebooting without properly shutting down the database server could. Have you checked your FileMaker server logs to see if it's logging any errors with any files?

Thats what we thought. We just proved again that the dbase did get corrupted immediately after the rebuild so we reveted back to an earlier backup of our dbase. We did check the server logs and did not see anything. OG is gonna prompt me soon to rebuild indexes, then I am screwed. Something is really weird.

We are using OG v3.04 and I am reluctant to upgrade because we have customized our web interface pages so much. Can we upgrade without overwriting our custom pages? Do you think this will fix it?

On another note, this all stems from a problem we encountered this morning. I had a customer signup for mynewoptigoldwebsiteproduct.com with no problems. Then they immediatey tried to sign up for mynewoptigoldwebsitepro.com and recieved a login error stating domian already exists. This has never happened before, we have taken orders for tons of similar domain names. Then I rebuilt and kapoof!

    Any ideas? Thanks Shawn.

I believe FileMaker has a limit of the first 21 character per word it will index, so that's why the domain would say it's in use. As for the rest, I would upgrade your files from->to the same version just to make sure you have a clean set of good files.

Wow, so there is no way OG will accept this order? Thats a bummer.

So if we upgrade, can we do it without editing our current web interface pages?

    Thanks Shawn

No idea about the web interface... custom web interfaces are not supported on our end.
