Proposed bill would cost $829B and would reduce the deficit by $81B.

It would also cover 94% of Americans rather quickly which is what's important here. Well... at least it is to those of us who care about such silly little side issues.... It would cover folks like this that I saw on the foxnews.com site's comments.

There are quite a few people on the fox site asking why we have to do everything now. Why not just do it in increments, starting with tort reform.... I suppose if they could tell us precisely how tort reform alone would solve problems like this person's right now that would make sense.

If a person tests themselves to see if they are eligible to transplant a body part to a loved one such as bone marrow or a liver they literally run a serious risk.

Not that there will be complications, but that if they happen to test positive for any disease or even the potential for a hereditary disease what they will have done is flagged themselves as having a "pre-existing condition" rendering them un-insurable.

In a sane world... where people haven't allowed themselves to be completely blinded by rhetoric to the point where they don't notice ugly truths like this (or at least they don't care until it happens to them) this type of reality would spawn outrage...
