Yesterday (Sunday 29th July) the Iraq national football team won the Asian Cup for the first time in its history by beating Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the final in Jakarta. Team captain Younes Mahmoud scored the only goal of the game with a header in the 72nd minute. (BTW The Iraqi team is a mixture of Sunnis Shi'ites and Kurds - maybe the last time they'll all play together.)

South Korea won the 3rd place play-off by beating Japan 6-5 on penalties after the match finished 0-0

I didn't see the game, but heard that Iraq dominated throughout; did anyone see it?

maybe America can just keep hosting Soccer games daily and the violence would drop 90% in Iraq..
