Confusion of Lenovo Products at Amazon

    Hi All,

I was just checking some laptops related affiliate networks and found that Lenovo gives 3% commission through CJ but their product is also listed in Amazon that provides 4% minimum affiliate money.

So why would anybody go through CJ, is there any catch here or I am missing something here?

    Please someone explain.

That's how many companies work; the same applies to local shops - they sell the same product at different prices. Regarding Amazon and CJ - They each have different affiliate rates for the same product. Remember, they too have to make money, so there has to be some revenue coming into their pockets as well. For Amazon, they can afford to pay out more because of the endless lines of product they shift every single day.

So, choose which one you think will make you more money as an affiliate...that's what market research is all about.

    Good luck

I agree with you and I think that Amazon is best for me because I dont have to apply for the Lenovo affiliate program separately and it has got trust also.

Lets see how my venture goes with amazon affiliates...

Keep in mind that Amazon does restrict commissions on specific items, makes, categories etc. I believe electronics is limited to 4% regardless and there are some brands that do not give commission.

Check the Amazon help pages, terms of use etc. in your account to find this info. (it changes often)

I thought Amazon's commission on laptops was a flat $25 regardless of the selling price. Which for a $1500 laptop wouldn't even be 2%. Am I wrong?

In any case, I happened to have been shopping for a souped up Lenovo laptop all last week (ended up with a T410s, love it!) -- there just isn't enough different models and options available on Amazon. So, if you want to attract purchasers like me, you probably would be better off with CJ links, like the thinkpadtoday.com folks do it. Except, if I read Lenovo's t&c correctly at CJ, you can't have 'thinkpad' in the domain name.

I think Amazon do restrict it to $25 for laptops and computers - check your associate account for more details (look in help, top right hand corner)
