I know it's good we can get a signature links from forum like DP. But i am confused how it will help us in link-building. I have a question in mind.(let's take an example of DP forum signature) Is Google counting my signature link all the time a new link when i take participate in any new thread or discussion.... can yahoo site explorer show me all back links which i have from this DP signature? if yes, then having so many links from one domain can increase value for my keyword? Please share your views for the same..... Sachin
Every time you make a new post with your signature at the bottom, it counts as a separate backlink. If you have a profile here on DP that has your link on it, that also counts as another backlink. The more quality backlinks you have, the better.
The text link is good for link building since its equating the keyword in the link with your website. And yes Google and Yahoo are seeing these links...but you do not have any in the signature area? Nevertheless these links are not very valuable. So even if you had thousands of text links from DP the would not amount to very much. You need text links from a variety of websites. 10 links from 10 different websites is much more valuable than 200 links from the same site.
@HighRollerT thanks for your comment, I found you have added keywords in your DP signature.... Now you have commented on this thread so will this link counted in your backlinks? if yes then is it beneficial to have hundreds of links like that.....
Every link you get from a domain adds juice to your rankings but each link loses value if its from the same domain. The first link from the domain is the best one.
