I'm using www.google.com to check the backlinks for my website. If I type in Link:www.hkhangfong.com, I got nothing - see the result here (using capital L in the Link word), however, if I type in link:www.hkhangfong.com, I got 132 results - see the result here. Anybody has the same problem?
link:yourwebsite is the correct count.. additionally to let you know, google never displays the exact link count under link:
I agree link:www.hkhangfong.com is the right command to check your number of backlinks. If you want to see the real number of your backlinks use google webmaster tool
This is not the problem. In the "Link:" case you don't search for backlinks. It's just plain, case insensitive search for phrase "link:yousite".
It doesn't help very much in understanding your backlinks. Either use Yahoo! site explorer or use google sitemaps to check your backlinks even beyond 1000 limit. Also search for greasemonkey script to get more info from sitemap results like PR,anchor & nofollow. Or you can use backlinkwatch tool.
the right way is type "link:" instead of "Link".Yep.They already told you.Use Google Webmaster Tool. The best tool is there and it's free. So,why don't you use it.
Link Command is in case sensitive... and if you want to see your back links Try to open your Google sitemap acc...
first time I'm seeing this....I'm using it now...its a wonderful tool.....green rep...but who should I give it to..you or mong who mentioned it first?
Unfortunately, Google's link command is not as useful as it used to be. It doesn't show all pages that are linking to yours. Actually, Google shows only a small selection. Google's search results pages show only a sample of the links that point to a page, so this list is in no way indicative of the link structure utilized by Google to formulate a page's PageRank.
