Some bad advice in here... "find something you are interested in"? No, no, what you are "interested" in is irrelevant. If you want MONEY, big MONEY, you go where the money is, or in other words, promote what people are already and currently buying, i.e: find a traffic course on ClickBank to promote. EVERYONE NEEDS and WANTS more traffic.

Meet the interests of the market, not your own. ;)

Building a website is the best thing you can do. Here's how it works

    1. Build a website
    2. choose keywords that you want to write content about
    3. Write keyword focused webpages with good content
    4. Build one way links to your website to rank higher in the search engines

I tend to agree with Joel. You need to target high paying niches - for the vast majority, there is just not enough financial muscle to make it worth your time. Once you pick a niche, you're going to be spending a LOT of time marketing it, so make sure the end rewards are there.

    Here are some pointers:

    - Research your potential topic in terms of payouts. What are the leading affiliate commissions? Is there scope to make three and four figure commissions?
    - Is there a genuine market of hundreds of thousands/millions of people who would be active buyers of your product/service?
    - What is the long term/medium term trend of the industry? Is it growing, and expected to continue growing?

Finally, I would strongly suggest splashing out the ten bucks for your own domain name and website. Very few people will take you seriously with a .wordpress or .blogger site. You need your own site as it gives you numerous branding options, plus you have unlimited flexibility RE what you can add (and, no danger of having your site removed after doing a ton of work).

Here's a link to my free book on picking good niches, hope it helps you:

Joel I agree but for someone new, this is probably not the best way. I say he should learn a bit.

Oh and new people that choose high paying niches usually suck at it. They copy stuff and have nothing useful. But yea then people leave the site by clicking on an ad but visitors will soon see if it's just another spam site or if you actually know a bit about it.
