Confused on total search data on Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery

I am completely lost at what the search totals on wordtracker and keyword discover actually represent.

For example, for wordtracker it says there are 285 searches for the search term marketing firm. Is this per day or per month?

Using keyworddiscovery for the same search term, marketing firm, it says there are 334 searches, but it says that amount is based on 12 months of searches. That makes no sense as I get 50 visitors per day just from google for that search term (I have the #1 ranking).

Can anybody help me make sense of what is the most accurate daily or monthly search volume for a given search term because the data I am getting from wordtracker and keyworddiscovery is not making sense.

    Thanks!

    Peter
