A few days ago i posted a question asking what is the best method for SEO, i'm a newbie, I got many replies, thanks to all that did, few suggestions where , directories and social bookmarks. So heres my rant, I got a list with over a 100 directories I started down the list nearly all of them want a reciprocal link if you wanted it for free or pay money, if I go for free I will end up will a ton of shitty links on my site (don't want it) i'm not paying (100x$= shit load). ok, book marks want you to make an account I found a list with 160 book mark sites , holy crap I really dont feel like joining that many. So how do you do it, do you make a new page on your site filled with reciprocal links from all the directories? Advice please
I think you missed the latest Google guideline changes. If you did here is what you have missed. The following points * “Have other relevant sites link to yours.†* “Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.†in favour of: * "Make sure all the sites that should know about your pages are aware your site is online." If you still want to do it stick to dmoz and the likes and ignore all other shitty directories. Will be a complete waste of time and you would gain nothing out of it. With social bookmarking you can websites like social poster but again the advise would be to stick to credible ones.
Just search for other directory... But google said that Directory Sub doesnt help to SEO anymore. There is a Thread on the first page.
