Confused about the adsense reports

Ok I just noticed that the first overview report I see when loggin into my adsense account shows one amount earned, but when I click on Advanced Reports, and select Channel Data and select all channels, it shows twice as much! Whats this about? The same goes for the total earnings for my month, when I check in overview it shows around 300 dollar, but then when I check in advanced reports it shows 600 something

Why is that and which one of them is correct?

Ok will see what happens... hope its the large amount that will stay lol.

Btw, how can I see information for earnings I've gotten from ads not in channels? Have some ads on a couple sites that has not been asigned to any channel.

You cant see the revenue if you havn't added channels for them.

It's because the revenue is being counted twice. Once for your main domain i.e. www.yoursite.com and then for every channel under that domain i.e. www.yoursite.com/page1.

The true value is $300 I'm afraid

Ah.. that sucks. Why do they fool me like this, should only been showing the real total earnings and not count twice like that :(

I think you best option would be to organise your earnings through channels.
This will also help you to see where your main clicks are coming from, and thus help you to optimize your websites.

Yeah well, I allready have channels for all my ad units. Thats why I thought it was strange it showed twice as much in the advanced reports when I selected all channels. But harrychoochoo cleared it up, its because I have URL channels for each domain too so they got included as well in the report, even though the other channels are within these domains

It a good practice to not mix up the url channels with normal channels (something like overlapping). That will show you incorrect stats.
