I'm a newbie and just read an article http://www.stuntdubl.com/2005/11/24/trustbox/ about why their is no sandbox and there is trustbox I'm confused!! I need your expert opinion thank you
This article is saying that new sites are not "held back" by the sandbox as is commonly thought but that old sites are boosted by being trusted and are placed in the "Trust box". Whatever its called the fact remains that for certain search terms you will not rank if your site is new. This lasts for a unknown number of months.
thank you for the reply mad4 please correct me if I'm wrong shall I say that sandbox is a misinterpreted term and all new sites really went through this?
The sandbox and other terms like trustbox are made up terms that SEO's use to explain why new sites don't rank for certain keywords. Nobody really knows whats going on for sure but sandbox is as good a name as any.
Probably sand box because that's where kids typically play, kids being a "new" site. This is how I interpreted it anyways, of course, I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not.
Just like mad4 says these terms are used to describe why new sites are filtered for a period of time before they can rank. I haven't heard about trust box before so i still think of sandbox for new sites
Trustbox is a new one on me, but i like it, it makes sense. TrustRank - TrustBox its the same thing, until the algo trusts the domain you ain't going anywhere. Have you noticed for very competitive keywords most of the domains are all pre-2003? If I perform an allinanchor: on the 3 BD IP'S my site is on page 1 among the exact other 9 that are there in the exact same positions when searching without allinanchor. I suppose the Google algo is treating new domains like bottles of wine, they will wait until its matured until they have a taste. By the way things are going for me, my bottle of wine will be vintage and ill be an OAP before they taste it, hehe.
