Hi, I'm a little confuse on what is really a cloud server, can you guy define? what is the difference of a cloud server from a regular server or a regular host, what's its pros and cons.. thanks everyone!
cloud hosting - Multiple servers all connected together. Imagine a bunch of clouds full of servers, each cloud is connected to every other cloud - Each group of clouds have a job to do, within each of those clouds - the servers look after each other. So, if one server goes offline - there are 15 to look after its place. GeoIP based cloud hosting - global based hosting, location of visitor determines what server to use. ( also an element of full global redundancy )
A cloud is a visible mass of droplets or frozen crystals floating in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth or another planetary body. Just as a cloud is made up of multiple tiny droplets or ice crystals a cloud computing environment is made up up multiple servers. Even if a single or multiple droplets or crystals are removed from the cloud, the cloud still exists. Same scenario with cloud computing. All of the applications run on the cloud share the resources of the entire cloud. Should a few of the computers go away, the cloud doesn't cease to exist, the cloud remains. Cloud computing allows businesses and people who have the need for cluster computing for the sake of redundancy to have redundancy without the cost of an actual cluster. Why pay for a whole cloud when you can get the raindrops for a fraction of the cost?
