My problem that I can't view anyone's YPN ads including my own has now been confirmed. I believe maybe as high as 25% can not view YPN ads due to certain geographic locations. I have not been able to see anyones YPN ads including my own since Aug 30th. Here's what I was told from the YPN tech dept:
I believe the problem may even be bigger than reported percent wise. Not only are there people who use certain ISP's that block or stop any ads from showing, anyone that is on a large intranet, lan, or even a large business site often can not see any ads. At work here we have tons of computers, employees are on the internet throughout the day. I went to my sites once to have a look, and to show them to a co-worker who was interested in having a website made for his hobby. Strangely on all of my sites that I either had YPN or AdSense ads, Not one ad would display, all there was, was a blank white area where the ad would normaly show. I checked another persons site, that I know has YPN ads, and the same thing was showing on their site, no ads. It seems the IT dept at work uses a filter from Norton, and other places, it blocks all such ads, from displaying. I asked them why they do this, and it is simply part of their firewall, anti-virus, hacking, etc..... protection. Needess to say, I wonder how many more people throughout the country are not even seeing our ads, due to Norton, ISP's, and other tools. It probably is in the hundreds of thousands, or certanily a high figure when you count the number of people on the net in the U.S. alone. And it's not just Yahoos (YPN) ads, that are blocked, but Googles (AdSense) ads also. It is certanily a high amount of revenue that is probably lost.....
I dont think its isps I think it is the redering of the js on some pages or whatever. I have the same problem on my site. It will show sometimes then sometimes it wont. Plus they are hell on page load. I wonder why everything of yahoos is so slow. I do like their system though especially actually talking to a real person when you request support plus they dont rip you off right before payout that google is notorious for doing. I say they still have some bugs in the system, remember it is still in beta
