Confirmed Google Panda Update #22 on 21st November

we had Panda Refresh #22 on 21st November, I had seen some sites were affected and I also found some threads in our DPF Google Section regarding the decreased site traffic.

i was also feeling this, because some of my sites were behaving not in normal.

 

Absolutely destroyed our new site! The site was ranking well for a number of good terms and I don't do any black hat seo. The site is a voucher code / offer site and in my view offered good content to my members. The update wiped the site completely out of the rankings even though the site still exists in the index. We aren't even appearing for the long tail search terms.

 

It seems like Google is punishing many sites with "duplicate content", which can be interpreted as in "your site shows the same coupons like others". You know... Google loves to punish sites that show pretty much the same content as other sites. Just something I saw very often lately ...

 

Yeah I thought that but it is a real problem because the vouchers are pulled in via a feed, the idea being that site can be automated. I am not sure what to do next, there is the possibility that I can apply a check to voucher when it first arrives i.e place a pending on it and then allow it to be reworded by me.

this is very bad for us

 

Google normally does not want to harm sites, actually they wanted to protect from spam and low quality pages.. if you're well & good enough in making great site then Google supports you definitely.

PS: But sometimes I say they are taking some extreme steps for their Adwords Advertizers..

 

I have to agree with this in general. I've rarely seen a 'worthy site' be knocked down because of an update.

 

i have to agree that google panda and penguin has done a lot of good things for me.

 

My EMD is still #1.

 

better to keep track of your rankings and bad links

 

Destruction has been already done! I am badly affected with this, two of my keywords gone back to 15 th page nothing to say.

 

Duh, this Panda going crazy

 

I was pushed up to first pages on all my establihed sites. I even go as far as refusing the google bots from indexing my content on the robots.txt

It seems that the worse I treat google indexers, the better ranked I get.

 

I personally enjoy new updates because even though it temporarily affects us, most of the people it affects will just give up which will leave less competition when we figure out the new algorithm . For this new update I have found that getting a diverse amount of backlinks has become extremely important!
