conection time too long

    ok i have set up an apache server on my computer and when i go to the website doctor28.scrapping.cc i can see it on my computer and other computers on my network.
    but when i go to a diffrenet computer i get a conection time is too long error
    why could this be??

    I guess your using your own computer as your host, and is connected to your ISP and you are using some kind free subdomain and you just use your IP and place it their.

    One reason is your ISP is blocking the access to your PC, the reason why you can view it on your network because, when it check for doctor28.scrapping.cc it's an IP on your network, thats why it will work.

    but computers outside your own network needs to passed to your ISP which is blocking port 80 of your PC.

    Your using your internal network ip for the domain. You need to publish the ip of your network, your router then needs to forward port 80 requests to your computer.

    Go to www.ipchicken.com and that will tell you your networks ip.

    Then login to your router and enable port forwarding of port 80 to the ip of the machine doing the web hosting. 192.168.1.33

    You router is likely on 192.168.1.1

    yes i have the port 80 opened on my router and i changed from ISP to my ip that Ipchicken gave me.. but now when i go to doctor28.scrapping.cc i get a log in message for my router...

    You have to "port forward" port 80, not just unblock it. And you should turn off remote admin on the router, if it has that optoin.
