I was reading this article - Condi for VP I really think Condolezza would be a great candidate. She could energize the campaign a great deal. I am just not sure if she would satisfy the conservative base.
Condolezza would be an interesting choice and I have been hearing the rumors that are running around on the net. Any idea who the Republicans are thinking about putting up for VP besides Rice?
Did you ever consider that Rice and others actually believe America's support for Israel is in our national interest? It seems that you accuse any American who supports Israel of supporting Israel over America (basically treason), but you never have anything to support that accusation. I know that you don't agree with US support of Israel but your conclusion about others who do just shows your constant bias. You wrongly assume there is no reason for America or an American to support Israel unless they are being paid to or are traitors serving Israel's interest over America's. Is that correct or do you acknowledge the possibility that someone can actually think supporting Israel is good for America?
I have no problem with America being allys with Israel, it's her choice. BUT IMO supporting Israel is not in the best interests for America, that's where I differ, I think this is the main flaw in Americas foreign policy. You give billions of dollars to Israel cash a year and much more in military equipment, what has Israel ever done for you? Supporting Israel is in the best interests of the Ann Culterists, and fundamentalist christians, not America itself.
American gives Billion of dollars a year to lots of countries not only Israel. Our foreign policy isn't perfect we often pick convenience over what is the morally right thing to do but How is supporting the only democratically elected government in the Middle East not in the best interest of the United States.
Because it has alot of enemies, IMO the USA is creating more enemies than friends by supporting Israel but surley it being a democracy is not an excuse to support it? Venezuela is a democracy and you are not best friends with them. But I really agree with you on the convenience over morally right statement though.
I wouldn't classify Venezuela as a democracy and we were friends with them until Chavez started turning into Cuba version 2.0
Who becomes our enemy because of our support of Israel? p.s. National security and foreign policy is not about winning a world popularity contest. I do not think having friends of groups like Hamas or Hezbullah something America would want.
I think your sincere, but sincerely wrong. Americans in my opinion would know more about their own politics than someone from a different country.
Well why not? Chavez is the most democratically elected person in the world, 11 times i think it is, the country is democratic. If it wasn't he would of overturned the extra power thing he opted for but lost the vote by 1% but he didn't, he accepted it. I wish this was the case, I really do but they voted in Bush twice, so that says it all really. It's not a popularity contest but neither is it a video game where he who gets the most kills wins.
You put it out there that the US was creating enemies by supporting Israel. Are you going to ignore the question of who exactly you think becomes our enemy? I am not asking to prove anything, but at least have the courage to name the countries or groups you think become our enemy as a result of supporting Israel.
PRetty much everyone in the middle east and asia, ask any Arab or Muslim if they dislike Israel 99% will say yes. Muslims take up almost a quarter of the worlds population so it's not like a small group of people or anything.
They interviewed Bin Laden before 911, I remember reading that he was very angry about our support for Israel. I don't remember where the interview is, but I could probably find it if you want to look at it.
In your foreign opinion that was the wrong decision, but in my opinion as an American citizen it was the right decision.
So you think American foriegn policy should be dictated by Arab/Muslim popular feelings? I certainly do not. (with the obvious exception of American Arabs and Muslims who have the right and should vote according to their wishes as all Americans should.)
No, I feel it shouldn't be dictated by American fundamentalist evangelicists That says it all really, get in touch with reality.
