I am running a website which sometimes have 1000+ concurrent connections (as evident from google analytics and server log) at the time of live updates of soccer score. The server stops responding then.

Any idea how to handle this problem ?

Does Google Blogspot support 1000+ concurrent connections ?

Check server RAM usage and try to optimize the web server and mysql server..

Not sure on BlogSpot but what server you hosting the website on right now? Specs? How is it currently setup? Are you having performance issues?

I am currently on semi-dedicated hosting of http://besthostfree.com ....over all they are good, because all my previous servers crashed on this high traffic spike. Best Host Free semi dedicated service is not crashing. they are becoming unavailable for say 30 second. As per their support team... they'll sustain 500 concurrent connections ....but not more !!!

is it same for all dedicated hosting company ? i have adsense revenue sharing with Google Blogspot. So will they sustain this traffic surge ?

It sounds like they are capping you on traffic. No, with a dedicated server you can take as many clients as possible. When we setup dedicated servers for clients we have seen servers able to do 10000 concurrent connections a second.

you should ask your provider how much traffic are you allowed to transfer per second (not only per month).

Sorry but as Google Blogspot having its own server configuration and cpu allocation for every individual account therefore you can consult this issue with the "Google Blogspot".

For a social news website that I am running now, blogspot is successfully giving support to 300+ concurrent connections. Its giving me confidence of 1000+ connections :)

It depends on the way it is configured. What's your server configuration ?
