Concerns about the BST posting rules

While I perfectly understand the reason for making
the rules stricter and giving infractions and bans
to people that don't obey I have some concerns
which are not addressed in the rules

The fact that people are only allowed to post in a thread
just for questions that will benefit others goes against
the itrader culture (which I find very valuable)

Can posting the details of an exchange for example
be thought of as non general comments and
be given the 7 day BAN ??

How should people exchange itrader in this case ?
What is the proper way to post in order to get
an itrader without getting an infraction ?

Is that addressed in the Rules or the general posting rules

Can people exchange itrader for something without
both of them having posted in the same BST thread ??

While I recently got a 7 day ban (unjustly I thought but
I am not here to dispute it) I feel like the bans
should be applied to a poster the old fashion way

7 day ban DOES NOT allow for a warning and does not
tell you the exact reason why you get banned
(I just got the message that said
"just read the rules" but did not help me understand
what I did wrong)

while with the old infraction system

Ban is only applied When accumulating a few infraction
points and passing a threshold level

If the threshold of 10 is too high maybe consider
to lower that level to 3 or even 2

Otherwise you are not giving any warning to the person
at fault


Why am I supporting this view ?

Personally I have been a member for more than 2 years
and I have had my fair amount of posts and itrader
and infractions and I know the value of DP forums
I do take infractions seriously and I believe
I have stop doing many wrong doing because of them

and just for something that I thought was completely
normal I get a ban with no warning and no explanation
what I did wrong !!!

Anyway I am not here to dispute the ban
and maybe the new rules and 7 day ban has proven
to eliminate a lot of spam but in the long run
its not giving a lesson to learn to the poster
at fault

Cool post and i agree with you to. Although i have yet to be banned ?yet?

i feel that 7days bans is overkill to new members and a one time accident
