Hey I have a question on how Sitewide links are valued or devalued in Googles eyes, what is the general idea on this? Lets say we have our link on a website which contains 500 pages. Is our sitewide link across 500 pages considered better or worse than having a link on 5,10,15,20 etc.. pages of the same site?? So if i've been given an option from a website should I: a) Choose to have a sitewide link say in the footer or wherever or b) Just have the link placed on a few pages??
Sitewide links have a better effect on Pagerank than they do with search results. Considering Pagerank value is done per web page you'll recieve much more PR juice from sitewide links. However, you dilute the SEO weight\value when it is "spammed" across an entire website.
My dear friend It's good to build links on few pages but never do sitewide links unless it is oneway. Secondly do only if it is free otherwise its only a waste of money because the PR juice you receive from that site is very very low in comparison to other relevant sites. Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
