Newbie question , i'm going to submit my websites (just cash parked domains) via a utility (submitsuite.com) , but i'm a tad concerned and unsure of a few things , i wonder if you could just give me a few basic answers to these questions....

    1) if i submit my websites to various search engines , if by accident there re=submitted in the future , by say a new utility i am using , will my sites be taken off the search engine? due to me re-submitted it.

    2) is a backlink , basically my site linked on somebody elses site?

    3) i believe posting articles is very important to enable my site to be seen more (once again via a utility from the same place as the submiter) and to keep it popular in the search engines (is this true?) so i presume i should post new articles , and is it okay to post to the same places , regarding my sites on a regular bias ? if so how often is suitable or is it a bad idea to repeat posting fresh articles(rewritten and new info) to the same places , the util i belive posts this to around 250 places .

I'm keen to learn more and would appreciate any help offered and any times you feel would be helpful.

    1) Don't do this its' a bad idea. Just get a link in your DP signature and your site will be crawled within hours or days. Submitting is a waste of time and energy nowadays.

    2. Yes.

    3. Posting articles with links back to your site can help but you'd be better off posting those articles on your own site and getting backlinks as a result of good content. You can try posting the articles once a month or so but doing more would probably take your energy off of content generation on your site which is where you should be focused.

signature in DP can help your site indexed quickly because the thread in DP is often updated.

SE submission over and over will get the SE upset. Or go to:

    Google - http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
    MSN - http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
    Yahoo - https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit (login required)

If you do this one time and do what nicknick has recommended ( fill out the Digital Point <User CP> Menu above, you will be indexed within the week.

If you also setup and use a Google Webmaster Account (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/about.html), it will explain to you how to use SiteMaps. You will find that the issue of Site Submission is no longer required.

    Great suggestions...
Some people believe that inbound links determine how fast your site is crawled, so here on DP go to "User CP", then "Edit Signature" and put a link to your site...

Then there are those that believe indexing speed can be upped by submitting directly to the site (like catanich) said...

So do both to be safe...

Also, I'd recommend you worry less about getting indexed, and more about link building... The link building should help you get indexed... :)

So to do link building , that would be posting articles to various sites , blogs etc , something worthy of reading with a link to my site?

And thank you all for the feedback , i feel as if the mist is clearing and i'm starting to pick up on things :)
