Concern about maintaining good Adsense account status

I'm pretty new to Adsense and still trying to wrap my head around a lot of things. One major concern I continue to have is the (seeming lack of) control I have over maintaining active status of my own Adsense account.

I just logged into my account and saw (on one of my low traffic sites) 4 page impressions and 7 clicks for the day (170%). So I guess some visitor was interested in more than one ad on the site. No problem. I imagine that will happen from time to time. However, after reading many threads in this forum, this reportedly raises red flags at Google and could potentially jeopardize the status of my account.

Here's the part that concerns me. I appreciate that Google is justified in being diligent about policing fraudulent activity. However, I am very uncomfortable about adopting a business model in which my Adsense account status is (seemingly) at the mercy of the activity of any visitor to my site. It just all seems too unstable. I would feel quite upset if I invested hundreds of hours exploring/learning how to build a network of sites that is based on earning revenue via Adsense, only to have it all abruptly terminated because of inappropriate activity by some visitor on one of my sites.

I know, diversify, diversify, diversify and have alternative solutions at the ready in case it happens. But that's not the point. The point is that if I am running the sites honestly, it would be patently unfair to have my account status terminated over something like this - something over which I have no control.

Perhaps the problem is not as out of control as all the threads suggest. Kinda like seeing the never ending number of threads in various forums that read "Paypal cancelled my PP account for no reason!!" More often that not, it ends up being because the account owners broke their TOS. But in the case of Adsense, that's not always the case. I have recently read a few threads here where long standing honest publishers are getting axed.

And to make matters worse, IMO Google is keeping their cards way too close to their chest. They wish to protect details of all their detection methods? No problem. It would be stupid to reveal them. However, when Google detects inappropriate activity, they should do more than just email the publisher citing "invalid clicks". Provide some details. Give some kind of explanation. Something, anything that will assist the publisher in figuring out what happened, and how to prevent it from happening in the future. Leaving the publisher in the dark seems entirely counterproductive.

I don't know about you, but it is quite unnerving having to walk on eggshells every time I login to my account. It almost gets to the point where I get anxious (in a negative way) if I see that my numbers are improving. Helluva way to have to feel when trying to build a business...
