Computer running slow

I've got a fairly new computer, year old and it's upgraded in every way possible. My computer has been fast as crap and in the past two days it's been running slow for some reason. I've run CCleaner and AVG 8.0 and it hasn't helped any. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you downloaded anything two days back  Maybe problem due to running spyware on your system or virus (not trace in AVTG).

first check the system by running NOD32 ... most preferred and the top graded antivirus and then ....defrag your hard disks ...

check ur registry for invalid keys also. by running registry defrag software ... or by any means.. :)

Most important get rid of unwanted junk files or documents at your hard disk and make sure only those necessary program startup and sit in your memory. Usually these will eat up system resource.

    1) Uninstall Unneccesary Programs
    2) Run Mutiple Anti-Virus
    3) Defrag

... If can't fix back up , format and reinstall windows

All that can be done with CCleaner. And i agree you should try defragmentation.

Bad idea, the more anti viruses you have the slower your computer will be.

AVG is probably the least effective in blocking malicious scripts. Go to PC-cillin and run House Call. It's free.

I think you should defragment the computer. or save all the important files in your drives and restore your computer to a previous date when it was running well say about a week back. for restoring go to all programmes than accessories and system tools and than system restore. Than restore your computer to a previous date (date when it was running normal).:)

I suggest you to scan your computer using an antivirus, clean your Windows registry and defrag your hard disk. If this doesn't work, try to use System Restore and revert back to the date when your PC is working fine.

I would advise you to backup all your data files and then reformat your pc. It is very difficult to remove spyware and virus that slow down your pc even with the best software available out there.

I know it is a lot of work but I can assure you that your pc will be restored to its usual speed. I do that every 3 months once.

    3.0 processor ( intel)

    512 mb ram

    915 glvg motherboard ( intel)
    80 gb hard disk.

My system use 12 hours per day. ( 4 year old)

complete restart time ( around 50 seconds including shutdown time to 100% active again)
    software installed more than 30
disk used around 70 gb :D

why my pc is fast : no use of any additional software - just played with registers of window.

remove everything from startup by running msconfig.

if all else fails, just format ur pc, if still its slow, get extra RAM, if still its slow, get a new pc...:p
