I just recently started having a problem with my computer. The computer starts but cant load windows. The computer freezes at the point before windows runs. I even trying using a windows xp pro (corp.) ms-dos start-up disk but it still doesnt start. AI even checked the ram and other parts of the computer but i still cant fix it. However, once every 40min that i try, i could get to the screen to run on safe mode but it stuck in the middle while running any scripts.... Does anyone here know to fix the problem???????
Hi. Does XP hang just before or during the intial Windows logo? I'd say you've got problems with the MBR which a Repair installation should fix.
So it passes POST with no beep codes? Well you can try running FDISK /MBR from the recovery console. I would also try booting up into a Live OS to make sure everything is functioning.
