What's the story about computer IPs or in any event IDs so that every computer is identifiable on the net?

what are you asking? If it is "does every computer have an IP address?" The answer is yes...each computer also has a mac address, which is usually what your internet provider wants when you register to get a connection. The mac address is the physical address of your computer, the IP address is the physical address of your connection line. If you have a router, then the router uses the one IP address while assigning others to the computers on the network. Make sense?

Every computer must have an IP to have a connection, but that IP may be 'hidden' behind a proxy server/site

Maybe you are asking about the MAC number

    Thank you for the answers.

I'll try see if I can understand better.

If I replace the computer I am using right now to connect to the web with another, is it going to show a different IP?

Also, who can see that IP?

    Thank you!

I just heard about that in a very vague way, so that's why I am asking you!
