Well I have a computer its a pentium 4. When I power on it boots. Right after the boot is shows the pentium 4 screen and goes no further. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

You getting any beep codes from the BIOS when it starts? If you Google BIOS beep codes for the specific model and motherboard it may answer your question for you.

Check for a way to hide the P4 logo that comes up, so that you can see the POST. It may reveal what's going on.

Sounds like a MBR issue - a repair installation of Windows technically should sort it.

Make sure the computer isn't under free warranty still. My mother wanted me to fix her laptop, and she was sitting there with an on-site warrenty with everything free :p

Thanks for all the help. After 30 minutes of testing. I figured it out. It was the keyboard. We had about 10 items plugged in so I had to try it all seperately. I thought it was the monitor at first which i'll be replacing soon its making funny noises. Thanks for all your help.
