Hey guys, I am having 2 problems with my internet explorer6 and any of you computer experts advise would be highly appreciated. 1. ) I am on a screen reader here and mostly when webpages have flashes in loops, my browser crashes and even mostly the computer screen goes completely Blue needing a restart deleting all the unsaved work. I have looked all around in internet options but cannot find an option to TURN OFF flash. Where can I turn off flash or even delete the plugin? Please be specific. I'm on win 98. 2.) Mostly, when I upload a new page to my sites and then launch it in IE, the same old page is displayed. I have already cleared all cookies and all temporary files including the history but still sometimes it takes 2 days to see the new page. What is the problem here and how can I fix it? I have already emptied the temporary internet explorer folder. What should I do to solve these 2 problems? Thank you jeet
1. Open your current plugins -Internet Explorer ---> Tools -click on icon 'Internet options' -select tab 'General' -Click button 'Temporary Internet Files' -Click button 'Settings' -Click button 'View Objects' 2. Click on the plugin icons you want to remove 3. Press the <DEL> delete button or right click, then 'Remove' I think this seems more like problem with your ISP, Is your ISP using proxy server?? This happens with proxy servers, sometimes they keep chache for pages that are not visited often even for days. I had to request my ISP to get my IP bypassed from proxy to access internet, as i was reading the same news on BBC websites for past 4 days.
Thanks sumit, ( feels like I'm thanking myself) I deleted the flash plugin from OBJECTS long ago but the flash are still showing. Any other way? What should I tell my ISP to get myself bypass the proxy? Thanks again for the time. Bye jeet
Ask them you dont want to work with proxy servers. explain your problem to them, i did the same and it was sorted out. Setting up proxy gives better speeds to user since the page is displayed from a local server, saves a lot of bandwidth for ISP as well, but this is the flip side to it, its only good if you just have to login to yahoo mail, cause nothings much gonna change on their page. Not many ISPs use proxy these days.
