Hey, someone please help me. My computer was recently formatted, and I was running a local install of wordpress which had a site of mine. Before the format, I copied the whole xammp folder onto a pendrive. So does anyone know how I can use it to restore my wordpress local site? Help is greatly appreciated.

You need the database file, and also the folder that contained wordpress (located in the www section).

Look under bin/mysql/mysql..../data for the database file, that may work.

you will need all the wordpress files and folders located under the /www directory or a folder within it.
And you will need the database for mysql, to find them you will have to dig into the directory for each peice.... some installs are different than others.
