    hey guys,
I have two computers...one of them (we'll call it "BLUE") no longer powers up correctly and therefore I can not backup my files. Unfortunately, BLUE is my main computer that contains all my work files and emails, etc. This same drive contains WinXP.

With that said, what's the best way to copy over all the data to my new computer? Since I can't power up the BLUE computer, do I just take the drive out and install it as a SLAVE on the other computer? It has an OS on the slave...so what shall I do? Thanks.

    Replace PSU?

Or if you mean does not load on bootup to Windows XP , Try an recovery CD.
Or just take out the drive like you said and open it up on the working computer and get your files out

I would take the HD out of blue and put connect it up to the working pc, then transfer the data until blue gets fixed
    get a new power supply

if you could copy th data is fine or u could jus use it as th secondary drive on u r new comp until th "blue" is fixed sounds practical instead of storing multiple copies

look for something outlook.pst file in u r application data folder for transferring of u r emails incase u r using outlook & for u r work files if they are nt associated to any programs/applications u could independently move th data to th desired location
