Complicated folder structure...does it make any difference?

    Hi all,

When I created a website using Weebly and then tryed to download it as a zip folder(so that I could then edit it in Dreamweaver) I noticed that all the various image files seemed to get put in a strange folder structure. So rather than just being image/picture.jpg, it was more like image/2/3/5/4/67746/picture.jpg

Does it make any difference in terms of SEO if there is a strange folder structure like this for all the image files?

    Thanks.

Hmmmm, Yes it does matter in terms of SEO a little bit. Actually image/picture.jpg can be easily crawled and indexed by Google. On the other hand image/2/3/5/4/67746/picture.jpg is little hard for spider to crawl and index.

But if only Images are in this way but not the pages than there is no harm.

Google want to crawl faster and stronger and that file structure is going to slow GB right down. Might as well make it as easy & relevant as possible. Could you move all your images into an /images/ folder at the domain route?
