Hi Everyone! It's my first post on this forum. But I read through many threads already, they're AMAZING helpful. Thank you all!

Now, I'm new at affiliate marketing. I have some niches that I think might be profitable. Seems to me that PPC is a good way to begin.
But as I understand from many posts here, The best way to use PPC is by creating a landing page.

I'm completely new at this. Have almost no idea how it works. Hosting, Provider, Domain, HTML etc. What are these? Which comes first?

I'll appreciate if anyone can direct me to a good ebook which provides that info.

Hosting means web hosting, where your website is stored on the web, basically. Domain would be the web address of your site (nameofsite.com). HTML is how websites are coded, how they're told what to look like, etc. I'm sure you can find the answers with searches, can't think of any ebook off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's one.

    Thanks Daniel.

Now, which is first, choosing domain name or register at hoster?

Are there any fees at these steps?

    yes, there are fees

and you should probably get an idea of what you're going to do with it before you do either.

    Hey there Gutty,

    Basically, it goes like this:

    1. Find a domain name that is available. Netsol.com can be useful for this - you can find domain names this way fairly easily.

    2. Find a hosting company. bluehost.com, hostmonster.com, tons of different companies offer hosting. You probably won't need anything extravagant as far large packages, just something simple will do.

    3. Once you set up hosting, follow the hosting provider's instructions on how to set up DNS/Name Servers for your domain/account.

    4. Now, you can create landing pages, etc and upload them to your hosting provider!

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, Telmari for giving from your time to answer simple newbie question
Let me ask you another question. What do you mean by 'DNS/Name Servers for your domain/account'?

    Thanks again!

    Hey no problem! :)

As far as DNS/Name Servers, your "welcome email" from your hosting provider should have a section where it mentions "Name Servers" or "DSN Servers". These will be addresses, something like "NS1.Somedomain.com".

Then, what you'll need to do is log into your domain name registrar, figure out how to change the "name servers" or "DNS" (should be somewhat easily visible, or at least in a help topic somewhere), and put in those addresses from your hosting email.

Doing this tells people's computers where to find the computer that hosts your website, and thus be able to access your site. :)

WOW! Thank you for explaining with such clarity.

Do you know maybe of some ebook which I can use as a guide through creating website? It doesn't have to be the BEST information. I need only something to get the idea.

    Hi Telmari.

I checked the site you mentioned. I'm getting the picture.

Now, let me ask you, do you buy a 1 page site for each product?

    Hey Again.

As to a domain per product, that's still under discussion (see other threads here on the board). So far, I've just used a single domain for all my products and it's seemed to work out pretty well- I'm still in profit, and get good CTR and Clickthrough rates.

As far as getting a landing page or website set up, I'd recommend searching the web for it - "how to create a landing page" should get you pretty far... or check out the first link in my signature - it's definitely the path I'd recommend if you're looking for a ton of great advice, help, and free resources as far as getting set up selling affiliate products in general.
