Two days ago all my pages were indexed. Everyday I've been checking and watching my site slowly climb up the rankings for it's targeted keywords, then all of the sudden boom. I have no idea what's going on here, as I've done absolutely nothing shady. Unless this is a temporary glitch, they banned me.
Give it a couple more days. I've seen a number of posts with people having the same issue. Cross your fingers that it's just a glitch. If not, then you may have become connected to a "bad neighborhood" in some way.
I hope it is just temporary, but I have seen this with one of my sites as well. I am on page 1 or 2 for several target keyword searches (normally) but now the site is no where to be found. I watch my stats closely and I havent seen a visit from Google Search in several days either. Typically half of my traffic comes from Google so this is very significant for me.
Look around this forum a bit and you will see that you are not the only one with this problem. In most instances, rankings return in a few weeks
seo ranter, I'm not talking about losing rankings. I'm talking about being completely deindexed. There's a big difference.
Exactly! Very disturbing. I've spent a lot of time and money on this site. Well if it is banned, I guess i'll have to take it like a man and start working on something else.
The site I was talking about above that seems to be MIA in the search results does show up when I do a site:url search. So we are not experiencing the same thing. However I still wouldnt say that you have been banned. Hopefully your problem will relsove itself in a few days and so will mine.
some sites dramatically dropped from rankings while others gain incredibly, maybe good thing to do is to have backlinks from quality sites, sometimes even if it is not so related, backlink from other kind of sites counts as long as they are reputable and not bad neighbor
8 or 9 months old I'd say. It was started as a totally different thing though. It was an internet marketing blog, which I hated and decided to turn it into a blog directory. So in it's current state, it is less than two months old.
strange indeed, you shouldn't drop out of the index with a site that age and with this many backlinks. you sure you weren't doing anything shady
so you changed the theme of the site and I guess the url structure also changed so your site is showing a lot of 404 page not found errors.... What does the google webmaster tools say?
