A couple questions:

1. What's the monetization model? I had a look at the stovestop smoker site; it's WP all right, but didn't see any adsense.
2. This is based on Amazon affiliate IDs, but there should be prominent links to the corresponding Amazon products. The only link I see is the "more..." links. There should be details that are plucked from Amazon - such as prices, reviews, etc. I don't see that here.
3. Have you heard of Associate-O-Matic? That's one smoking-hot product, offers amazing features including a WP plugin, and costs only $99. I'd say go for it!

The blogs are estimated to earn around $20 per month, thats an average, and you do not have to undertake any additional effort to reap the benefits.

1. Since the sites are focused on amazon products, the primary monetization method is amazon itself. Adsense, if the customer prefers, can be thrown in as an additional measure. Even Ebay is a good additional source.

2. As the idea here is to provide the customer a set and forget sort of venture, the only reliable and long term source of traffic is from search engines. To be able do that, the site needs to be developed in such a way that the posts look natural from the search engine point of view. The details about the products are somewhat fed to the SEs, which happens by posting details about the product AND making the title of the post as the url. Feeding the details like prices to the SEs would look more of a promo, rather than a natural result for the particular, and the resulting high SERPs. 3. Associate-O-Matic does not match at all with this concept. Such ready made stores are no use till the visitor arrives at the site as he has no idea about the listed products. Bringing traffic to these types of stores is possible only with external measures with no relation to the content at the site. They can be like PPC, submitting unique articles to the top article directories, social bookmarking, backlinking etc; which cost additional time, efforts and money. The set and forget approach here eliminates the need to get into such measures thus saving investing more time and money. This is achieved with the help of using the content from the site itself, and off course some startup promotion thrown in.
