Is there some way to get a complete list of domains at least for some TLDs (.com .net .org)? I know that Verisign will give you this information for 15K/month (or 1K/month if you are an accredited registrar (which I'm not)) Are there less expensive solutions? Rationale for getting this info: pure curiosity.
Nope. These can be found and downloaded from drop-catcher services. I'm actually interested in the ones that are currently active.
I'm Ainuddin Mohamad aka ainmohd. I have been buying and selling domains for about 12 years and I had written many articles about domains. Google "ainuddin mohamad expired domains" if you want to read them. Despite all that I have yet to decide whether to have a up-to-date list of active domains since I don't have big data centers to keep them.
i believe it's free, they are called zone files. 12 years in the business and you havent figure this out yet?
Hmm... According to this: http://www.domaintools.com/internet-statistics/ there is less than 500M total domain names across major 6 TLDs. Of these 100M are active. Lets assume 1 kilobyte for domain name and current reg data (although in reality it's much less). This adds up to 500GB of data. That's the size of a modern hard drive - no big data centers needed. Am I missing something? My original question is still unanswered. Is it possible to obtain this list somewhere? For me just list of domain names without reg data would suffice.

thank you. this is exactly what I needed. everything is easy to find once you know exactly how it's called
