Competitor position 1 and 2 same url

A competitor has position 1 and 2 with the same url - we used to be in position 2 and I think dropping the position will be bad for us.

How do I react :confused:report this to google?

Being a "Ferrari car hire" i would have expected you to have at little
budget to promote your site as well as have a ferrari website that blows
peoples mind or looks very expensive... :(

Its normal sometimes for a domain to have 2 positions (main url & inner page url)
and usually the sign that the site might be getting authority links soon.

Build your sites back-links & content (being listed in DMOZ is good but you need more backlinks)....

An indent is normal, it just means that the top site has two site pages listed on page 1 of the search results. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are #1 & #2 but that's how Google displays them when on same page.

For example, they could be #1 & #8. You can determine their actual ranking by searching with 5 results per page. You may or may not see the indent any longer.

It's a huge advantage to have the indent because that #8 page appears as #2.

Reporting them is probably a bad idea. It might increase the likelihood that someone scrutinizes your own site. I have no idea whether this would happen. Work on your own SEO.

Do more link building! It means you need to catch up more with them.

It happens and normal on Google search for there might be something interesting/related inner page that meets the search query. Maybe they will just laugh and ignore your mail if you try to contact them about that.

Work hard on both content & backlink

You need to increase your own backlinks significantly!

In order to compete you have to beat not only the page they have focused on but also their less favoured page.

This is a good indication that they are WAY ahead of you and you really need to up the ante to catch them.

    Cheers,

Google allows upto 2 URLS for/URL for each website. I have a couple of websites showing twice for some keywords and I am happy about that :)

Just make sure you build lots of unique content + backlinks and by time, you can see the same on your website.
