So I am looking at a competitors home page. He only has a flash video, a few images, and a little text. But when i ran a Google Bot tool....the spider sees all this text that I cannot see. Also the text is in the source and there are <h3> tags...but again I see no <h> tags on the home page when I use my webmaster tool bar. What am I missing.....
He probably has some type of noscript code for when people do not have flash enabled. If the amount of 'hidden' text is substaintial, you should report the website as spam and state the reason as hidden text. Really that hidden text would have minimal impact on rankings. Rankings mostly come down to who has better backlinks.
Yeah it is a blackhat technique I have seen used a lot from poker and RX websites to even Amazon using it.
