On UK TV there's recently been a series of ads from supermarkets Asda and Tesco. Each claims to either have cheaper prices or cheaper basket values than the other in an attempt to name and shame, but the important thing is that they're all based on facts. Now would they be able to do the same with Adwords display ads, i.e. we're cheaper than x, y, and z (including their logos), or we'll beat your quote from x, y and z or give you £££. Again still using facts. Now what if they're trademarked search terms too, would it simply be a matter of not bidding on their names for contextual and placement searches or is this all a total no no??? I haven't seen anyone else do it...yet. Answers and thoughts on a postcard please!
You can bid on trade marks keywords or use them in Ads but most of the times google does not seem to like it... but Google does allow you to use trade mark items in the display url e.g. www.yoursite.com/trademark since the main landing page is your URL, google does not have any issue... you need to ensure there is a folder with the same name else you will get the error "incorrect display url"
