Exactly what I was thinking as I was reading the thread. Low budget? So what ... Adwords isn't a sprint... if he wants to start off low then by all means do. My budget started off low initially but now it's a decent amount and it's increasing by the week. I often do weekly downloads of all my website visitor logs ... it's pretty easy to track via IP for irregularities and when you spot one - investigate closer. When you are sure, block the IP for a kickoff. Somebody spending 3.00 a day CAN get competitor clickings, for sure.
You first need to come up with an internet marketing budget, daily or monthly. Then: -You have to study what keywords you are going to target. (make a list) -Check out your competitors (website, keywords, landing pages, etc). -Estimate how much they spend (www.spyfu.com) on adwords. -what do you consider a conversion or a sale and how much does it generate to you. -use the adwords traffic estimator. -use g analytics I think that for starters and depending on what you sell, a daily budget of $100 is a good base. but you can start with anything really, $30, $50 and make your decisions from there. Last but not least, make sure you track your conversions.
"I think that for starters and depending on what you sell, a daily budget of $100 is a good base" The guy is budgeting 3.00 a day because that's all he can afford ... jumping from 3.00 to 100.00 is hardly good advice. I'd suggest for his situation, going from 3.00 to 5.00 being a more reasonable choice ... then maybe 10.00 in a few weeks .. and so on.
I'd hate to beat this topic to death but with such incredible ROI I would continue to increase my daily budget with the previous day/week/month revenue. I wish the bids for my keywords were that low!
I was replaying to chini's post, and that was just an advice based on my experience. I also said that he should start with what ever he could afford. He certainly won't spend more than what he can afford. I'm pretty sure that many here will agree with me that $100 is a good base to start with, again it really depends on what niche you are in.
Thanks for the great insight, but just to complete the question I asked, if you were spending $3K a month ($100-per-day), what sort of profit would you expect to be returning, approximately? $500, $1K, $2K, just ballpark figures is all I'm interested in.
That completely depends on the product/service you are selling... for the company I work for, I would say that the roi is around 3-5 times the spent (at least). Imagine how much would the roi vary if you compare a real estate company with a dental office (back in 2002 )? There are some rehab businesses spending over $10k a day in adwords alone... I doubt they are loosing any money
Agreed. The intent of PPC is to drive traffic at a controlled rate, and the intent of this post was for the original poster to find some info about tracking his click traffic. Stick to the topic!
It's just like asking: "You spend X amount in the national newspaper, what am I likely to expect if I do the same?" ... We are talking a serious serious numbers game. People will experience different numbers .. which means different results and different conclusions. Seriously ... take the actual fomula and do the workings out yourself ... you'll then begin to learn what works for YOU and YOUR niche - it can and probably will be completely different to what others are doing. Remember, Adwords is just an advertising method - it's not the whole lot.
Well i increase my adwords on that website to about $20 a day and i did see sales increase x's 3. Only thing is I dont know where my sales come from. I sued the adwords tracking but it doesnt works to swell.
Google will catch any fraud clicking .You don't have to worry about that.If you are wondering you are not getting the returns for your investment then you should think more about the budget and also your niche.0.08 CPC sounds like your campaign's quality score is very good and you are right on the money.Try to increase the budget and you probably will see some results
Check your recommended daily budget... it will be much higher than what it is currently right now... this means too many people are searching for your keywords and your budget is getting exhausted by afternoon
I think it is ok to start off small. although i do agree that your missing out on lots more sales with a higher budget. Im currently spending around. $1.50 a click. Goodluck to you.
