Everyone should stop being so naive and giving Google the benefit of the doubt. As Someone mentioned earlier they are in a HUGE class action lawsuit over click fraud and if you do not think a competitor would go the extra distance to run up some clicks then maybe you should try a highly competitive keyword market and check the links coming to your sites based on IP address vs. known proxy hosts/corrupt countries. My point is imagine the criminal underworld with these massive botnets using them to randomly click on specific ads and keywords with your site or even a DiggBoss/Freak site where people in 3rd world countries are paid a fraction of a penny to contribute their unique IP to simulate real browsing habits. Click fraud is a real issue.
Anyone who would give a corporation the benefit of the doubt when it comes to its overwhelming bias towards maintaining conditions favourable to its own interests- regardless of the impact on the consumer- truly is naive. Look at how an otherwise reputable company like Kmart promotes those con artists 'NetZero'. Talk about a class action suit waiting in the wings. C.
