I am new blogger and try to learn various SEO factor both on page and off page.......................
Today i read a blog where a seo expert say something which i learn first time.................
he said that page rank is the number one factor to bit competitor ...............
    he said
1.At first i need to select my keyword
2.then i need to search google to find out my 1st page competitor
3.Then need to collect all PR of my 1st page competitor
4.Then if competitor RP value is less than 25 ,then it is easy to bit them..............valu more than 25 but less than 35 is more difficult and more than 35 is all most impossible.........................
now i want to know is it actually true which he said?

I disagree. PageRank is not the number one factor when analyzing your competitors for a specific keyword.

For example, many times a smaller site with lower PR will be outranking an inner page of an authority site with a high PR.

If you see inner pages of authority sites ranking high for a keyword that they are not targeting, this is usually a good sign (regardless of PR).

Actually there are many factors when analyzing a competition and I disagree that the PR is the no. 1 factor. Other factors includes the quality of the sites content, backlinks, authority, PR, no. of competitions, on page factors like site navigation, how they use their header tags, image alt, and etc. Everything that can help a sites ranking is a factor to check when doing a competition analysis.

You should look at your competitors sites, see how many good articles they got, after this, you should look at he backlinks, how much backlinks they good, and most important, how many quality backlinks they have. You should now have an idea about the competition.
