Someone told me if I use AdSense competitive filter mechanism I will make double revenue.

It will mean less advertisers on your site, and therefore it is not likely that they will end up paying more. If you have low paying ads on your site, I'd recommend using one ad-block less on those pages.

it may not double your revenue. Most likely it will helps to increase your paid out but it depends on your niche. If you have noticed that your $ per click is in the range of 1 to 2 cents. it is best to use the competitive ads.

There are a lots of low-paying ads (such as MFA sites) that are now displaying on many sites, no matter what the niche is. To prevent it from showing in your site, filtering is good and you may get higher earnings on every click.

I don't believe for less-advertisers. You can only filter 200 while there are a lot of advertisers in Google.

Check your earnings and ads. When you detect anormal decrease or lots of useless MFA ads, then look at your ads more carefully and add some of them to your competitve filter.

Note that you need to do this regularly since there are lots of them and i guess they add new ones one they see that their pages are added to competitve ad filters..

I guess that really depends on your niche. Things may happen that instead of increasing, it goes down as well. But no harm trying of course, I mean you never know what the outcome is.
