Competitive AD filter

    Hi there

I make a reasonable amount from running a few adsense ads on my page. I have not done a lot to optimize this and I am now thinking maybe I could increase this revenue.

I have been hearing that people use the competitive ad filter to filter out low paying ads. I think I kind of get how this works but would be grateful for any advice.

How many people actually use this technique and has any success been noticed?

    Thanks

Adword advertisers bid on keywords, usually the highest bidding advertisers get their ads displayed first. If you have a low CTR you can expect to get lower paying advertisers on your site, Google wants the highest bidders to be displayed on sites with good CTR, this is called smart pricing :)

I never filter out any ads, but then again I use adsense on my humor sites and don't really need to. I only get $0.07 to $0.15 a click anyways.

well browse your websites a bit , keep a eye on your adsense ads , and not down the url of websites that appear on your ads , then visit them by typing url in browser , if you think they are mfa's (means lot of adsense on that site made for adsense) then put that in your competeive fiter

i said so beacuse mfa's are very low paying

I know that some of my clicks I get lower than $0.10 per click but today I noticed that I got $1.48 per click. I'm not sure in my market there would be any or many MFA sites but I will begin to look out for these and block them.

Is there any other sites to look out for or nay other way of filtering so the better ads show?

    Thanks for the input

I'm been paying attention to one of my sites and have been filtering out MFA sites.

I filtered low paying ads but after that my ctr was bad because other ads aren't that relevant to my content.
